I have mulch and it appears too dry. Does anyone know the correct ratios of how to develop mulch which is perfect for the garden?

Thanks Wildman (yes, you are right - I meant compost) and Don - thank you too for the advice. I didn't realise you could add the chicken manure into the mix. Thanks again

When you say "mulch" are you taking about mulch: a top dressing for garden beds or "compost" which you develop in a compost pile or bin as a manure? If you refer to mulch for garden beds then I believe the best mulch is leaf, twig etc, piled at least 100-150mm deep on the bed. it is meant to be dry to prevent weed growth in areas of no plants. If you are referring to compost there are heaps (excuse the pun) of methods on the net.

i have found one third dry straw/leaves etc and two thirds grass clippings/green is ideal for my place in mandurah, add a good handful of blood n bone and chicken manure each time you top up the bin.
