PERTH Football Club will lose star utility Jarrod Kayler Thomson to Hawthorn.

The mature-age rookie will make the switch next season.

Kayler Thomson, who was born in 1985, was recruited from Newtown to join the Perth Demons in 2005.

His career with the team resulted in over 86 games with the Demons and his accolades include the Vince Pendal Award for Best Clubman in 2009.

The news follows another milestone for the club after the Perth Demons won their December 12-a-side event.

After winning the semi-finals in 39C heat, the team went on to win the day against Fremantle.

Damian McMahon won the best player award for his great performance, with highlights from Kade Aaron Elari.
