VINTAGE dresses, T-shirts, jackets and jewellery are just some of the items on offer at Winifred and Bance, which recently opened at the Fremantle Markets.
Delilah Carter was inspired to create Winifred and Bance in 2005 when she spent a month cleaning out her late grandmother’s house.
Ms Carter’s grandmother Winifred Bance and her twin sister Connie were born on January 5, 1920.
Winifred married Les Carter in 1948. Her wedding gown is on display at the Inglewood store, along with other items from her farmhouse.
Ms Carter said the vintage history of her grandmother’s house inspired her to create the first shop in Inglewood, which she recently decided to expand into Fremantle.
“I’ve always loved ferreting through things, creating new from old, op shopping, old stuff, garage sales, swap meets and markets, not to mention a good bargain,” she said.
Winifred and Bance is open at the Fremantle Markets Friday to Sunday and on public holidays.
