How do I start my first entry in two and a half months?
So much has happened in that time.
We've had (correction, Abbie's had) several interstate visitors, Abbie had her first flight to Sydney and back, had her first cold and started to learn about her hands and feet while I've discovered catch-up television on the ABC and Channel 10's websites.
That last one may have more to do with me not blogging than the others.
Visitors are no big deal for Abbie, seeing as how we've had guests for eight of her 16 weeks.
The trip east, on the other hand, was a big deal.
The flight over was okay as I flew with hubby's nan (there is a convoluted story about his leave that prevented him from flying with us that I won't go into here).
The only problem was a number three (that ad is funny 'cos it's true) that was so bad one of the hosties almost ended up wearing it.
Thankfully though it only ended up covering Abbie's outfit and her blanket.
Other than that she did beautifully until we got back to my folks house where she screamed at the indignity of arriving at a house that was not hers for what seemed like hours, but probably wasn't all that long.
She was in no mood to cooperate when it came to introducing her to the in-laws the next day either.
It was too much for the poor little thing.
How could she be expected to socialise in this weird humid place?
Her mood improved once she settled in and she turned on her charm for the rest of the week.
The cold was one big sleep deprived blur for all of us.
We kept having to spray saline up Abbie's little nose.
I felt so mean having to do it, but it was the only way she could breathe properly.
Fast forward to the present and Abbie just keeps getting cuter.
Every day she seems to do something new or just that little bit better.
The other day I was trying to put her to sleep.
She clearly needed it. She was crotchety and yawning, but was babbling at me in such a way that she sounded like she was trying to talk me out of putting her to bed.
It was all I could do not to laugh.
She's also begun to lay the groundwork to get anything she wants from daddy.
I'm not looking forward to the day when she understands just what it does to him when her bottom lip drops and starts quivering...
